Whether you are someone who takes pride in living a very healthy lifestyle, or if you are looking for an area that will inspire you to make healthier decisions; Fremont should be considered. It is a fact that there are some cities in America that simply offer a higher quality of life than others. This has nothing to do with the number of wealthy neighborhoods that are present, like some might assume. For an area to offer this type of lifestyle, the city as a whole must be passionate about it; residents included.
Tough Smoking Restrictions
With such a high concern over the dangers of secondhand smoke, Fremont’s smoking restrictions have now been toughened. Smokers can no longer enjoy their cigarette standing in doorways where others have to pass through; in fact, they have to be 25 feet away from doors and windows.
Tobacco product vending machines have also been banned, and landlords are now required to disclose smoking policies and designated areas to tenants. Secondhand smoke is a problem; many cities are sure to follow in the footsteps of Fremont by enforcing similar bans.
In June 2012, Blueprint for Tomorrow was approved, providing goals to create a more desirable community that could improve quality of life. A mandatory rental inspection was a primary focus. Although landlords in Fremont are known for taking exceptional care of their properties, these inspections would ensure that everything is up to code. Even if this prevents one potential house fire, it is well worth it.
It is really hard to not be an outdoor lover living in Fremont. Whether you like to walk or bike, you will want to make use of every trail at all the parks. Just a few with trails that offer gorgeous landscapes, fantastic views and an abundance of wildlife include Coyote Hills Regional Park, Mission Peak, Fremont Peak State Park, Alameda Creek Trails, Don Edwards Regional Park, Quarry Lakes, Patterson Park, Lake Elizabeth, Mermaid Run Easy Bay and Big River State Park.
While there are plenty of traditional gyms with cardio equipment and free weights, Fremont also offers a generous number of yoga studios. Yogis will tell you that the practice makes you healthier from the inside-out. Yoga not only tones your body, it allows you to become balanced and does an amazing job of reducing stress. As everyone knows, stress is a contributing factor to illness and disease. A few of top recommended studios in Fremont include Bikram’s Yoga College of India, Dahn Yoga Center, Lifestretch Yoga and Mind Body Zone.
Farmer’s Markets and Health Stores
When you have access to fresh organic food and chemical-free hygiene, beauty and cleaning products, it makes all the difference in the world. Some cities are lucky to have one health food store or a weekly farmer’s market, but this sure is not the case in Fremont.
There are plenty of seasonal and year-round markets. Some of the more well-known ones include Sigona’s, Sprouts, Sunflower and Urban Village Farmer’s Market. Plus, there are several health stores, such as Vitamin Shoppe, Khyber Market and Fremont Natural Foods. There is even a Pet Food Express with all the high-quality brands you are looking for to feed your four-legged or feathered friend.
