More Than Just Books: Welcome to the Fremont, California Library

If only every city had an exact replica of the Fremont, California Library, more people might get excited about spending time at one! This is certainly not your typical building filled with books, this is a world-class facility where people of all ages can take out books, attend events, get help with homework… and parents can even take toddlers for story time!

Description

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors established this library in 1910. Shortly after, branches began to open until there were 10 in total that this public library provides services for. Branches can be found in Albany, Castro Valley, Dublin, Fremont, Newark, San Lorenzo and Union City.

Although some revenue comes from state grants and contracts, most funding comes from local property taxes, so Fremont property owners have a sense of pride that they help make a difference. The library has an outstanding collection of services and events, and actively collects work in Chinese, Korean, French, Hindi, Persian, Vietnamese, Spanish and Tagalog to support the diverse demographics of the community.

Services

  • Bookleggers – If you are looking for a great volunteer opportunity in Fremont, California, the Bookleggers are a fantastic group that promotes independent reading for children. This is done by visiting classrooms and getting children excited about books that they just can’t resist. Teaching a child to learn to love reading is a wonderful gift.
  • Bookmobile – Every two weeks, this library on wheels visits schools and neighborhoods full of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and more. You check out what you want for two weeks and exchange it for something else next time the Bookmobile comes around. You can even put in special requests.
  • Children’s Programs – In addition to a fabulous selection of reading material for children of all ages, the library offers some great programs. Storytellers, puppet shows and magicians can all be found on a schedule.
  • Homework Help – Virtual homework help can be found online. This is a wonderful platform for both students and teachers. You will find that the system is extremely easy to navigate around, as there are general, animal, California, science, literary, biographies, countries/states, history, math and holiday categories.
  • Jail Services – The library provides literary/life skills instruction and library service to over 4,000 individuals in county jails every year. In addition to supplying paperback books, tutoring services are also provided. It is estimated that two-thirds of inmates do not write or read well enough to manage their daily lives. It is suggested that those who can read and write when they get out, have a higher chance of getting a job and staying out of trouble after their release.
  • Older Adult Services – Individuals 50 years of age and older are welcome to participate in events focusing on spirituality, authors, mental health and simply relaxing and sharing a few laughs.
  • Teen Services – From homework help to test preparation to volunteer information, teens can find a lot of useful outlets on the library’s website. They can create book lists, see what’s hot and even join a book club. If help is needed, there is a long list of hotline numbers and help resources are available.

The Fremont, California Library is a one-of-a-kind place. This is a facility that the community takes full advantage of. Valuable resources and constant events make it a beautiful place to spend some time alone or with the family.

Joseph Sabeh Jr.

Please let me introduce myself, I am Joseph Sabeh, Jr a full time licensed professional realtor. I have been with Executive Homes Realty for over 13 years and was trained by my late father and Broker, Joseph Sabeh. I recently incorporated the company and we moved the office to 43513 Mission Blvd just last summer. I could not have found a more honorable place to work. After earning my experience selling high end Ralph Lauren suits and studying business management in southern California, I decided to pursue my dream of selling real estate and working with my father. He had already had such an excellent reputation and established a niche market of high end clientele that catered to the very best. I wanted to become the consummate professional just like him and have strived to become just that being just a phone call or email away from getting back to my client’s immediate needs! Known by my clients for my tenacity, perseverance , and excellence in negotia- tion(Certified Negotiation Expert), I have always strived to meet my clients high demands and goals. As a result of my professionalism, I have achieved an extensive portfolio of referrals from past and present clients. I credit my current values from my upbringing of my parents and the credit is due to them without question. Their integrity, pride, and willingness to sacrifice for the better of my life and my sister’s always left a mark on me that one day I will pass on. Their desire to achieve a better life and live it to the fullest is one that some families dream of and I certainly am appreciative of all of the education and etiquette I have learned from them both. I have sold condos up to 3.2 million dollar homes and I am here for any and all of your future real estate needs and wishing you the very best experience in your future real estate endeavors with me.
