7 Things to Do at Mission Peak in Fremont, California

Although Mission Peak in Fremont, California is primarily known for its challenging hike to the summit, there is a lot of activities to engage in here as well. So, whether you are looking for something to do after you tackle the hike, or if you have friends making the climb, but you would rather occupy your time elsewhere, there is plenty to do.

Hiking

When you read 465 Yelp reviews by people who made the exhausting climb to the area’s most underrated summit, you can’t help but be intrigued. Those who reach the top are awarded some of the best views in the state and get to share space with feral goats, hawks and vultures.

It takes approximately 5 hours to reach the summit and return. Some areas are very rocky, so watch your footing and travel slow. Make sure you are prepared with plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, bug repellant and sunglasses.

Horseback Riding

There is nothing quite like a day spent riding on a horse, soaking up the scenery. Mission Peak is home to horse arenas, boarding barns, day camps, riding lessons and two facilities where you can hook up with a group for a trail ride.

Hang Gliding

There is adequate space for 15 gliders to set up at the west-facing launch. The launch is accessed by a dirt road that requires a 4WD vehicle, and only a few pilots have gate key access to the launch. If you choose not to drive, you will need to contact one of them. Hang gliding at Mission Peak can be dangerous. Be sure not to launch into south winds, and you have to be alert of air traffic traveling at the same elevation.

Biking

Whatever your activity level is, there is a bike trail in Fremont, California, for you. Mission Peak offers miles and miles of beautiful paved bike trails. Some are easy, granting you great views and an enjoyable ride while others are a bit more challenging, if you are more of an off-road person. Mountain bikers are more than welcome on gravel and dirt trails throughout the park.

Camping

There are four different camping opportunities available here, including:

  • Backpacking – Some backpacking sites need to be reserved ahead of time and a permit is required. There are strict rules to follow regarding fires, alcohol, parking, pets, etc. Please be familiar with these before you venture out.
  • Equestrian Camping – There are five locations available for equestrian camping, all with their unique guidelines.
  • Family Camping – Mission Peak offers specific campgrounds that are geared towards parties with children. You can book a site for up to 15 days at a time, for up to 11 people in a party.
  • Group Camping – Large parties of 11 or more will find both developed and primitive campsites available.

Boating/Kayaking/Sailing

Boating opportunities are in abundance here along bay shoreline areas and at the Regional Park lakes. There are places to rent a variety of boats through the park. However, if you are launching your own canoe, kayak, inflatable craft, sailboat or boat, you need to be prepared for a mandatory inspection.

Fishing

This is the place to go fishing in Fremont, California. Different fish can be found in various bodies of water, but some include Rainbow trout, Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, Striped bass, Bluegill, Black crappie and Channel catfish.

Please let me introduce myself, I am Joseph Sabeh, Jr a full time licensed professional realtor. I have been with Executive Homes Realty for over 13 years and was trained by my late father and Broker, Joseph Sabeh. I recently incorporated the company and we moved the office to 43513 Mission Blvd just last summer. I could not have found a more honorable place to work. After earning my experience selling high end Ralph Lauren suits and studying business management in southern California, I decided to pursue my dream of selling real estate and working with my father. He had already had such an excellent reputation and established a niche market of high end clientele that catered to the very best. I wanted to become the consummate professional just like him and have strived to become just that being just a phone call or email away from getting back to my client’s immediate needs! Known by my clients for my tenacity, perseverance , and excellence in negotia- tion(Certified Negotiation Expert), I have always strived to meet my clients high demands and goals. As a result of my professionalism, I have achieved an extensive portfolio of referrals from past and present clients. I credit my current values from my upbringing of my parents and the credit is due to them without question. Their integrity, pride, and willingness to sacrifice for the better of my life and my sister’s always left a mark on me that one day I will pass on. Their desire to achieve a better life and live it to the fullest is one that some families dream of and I certainly am appreciative of all of the education and etiquette I have learned from them both. I have sold condos up to 3.2 million dollar homes and I am here for any and all of your future real estate needs and wishing you the very best experience in your future real estate endeavors with me.
